Jonathan Geanakos
Americas Capital Markets
Jon is President of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. Based in the New York office, he leads the firm’s Capital Markets platform across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, including growth in the areas of investment Sales and Finance.
He also leads the firm's Office Capital Markets practice. Additionally, Jon, along with other senior leaders, focuses on serving and caring for major client relationships across JLL's entire global Capital Markets business. He’s a member of JLL’s Global Capital Markets Executive Board, which oversees the firm’s 3,700 Capital Markets employees.
Jon is nationally recognized in the U.S. real estate industry with over 30 years of experience in real estate finance and investment. He uses his energy, passion, and experience to serve clients and shape our global strategy over multiple disciplines including acquisitions, asset management, dispositions, finance, and investment banking.
He has advised institutional, corporate, and private owners and investors in structuring and executing capital market transactions and advisory assignments throughout the United States and Mexico. Jon has also assisted clients in executing acquisition, recapitalization and repositioning strategies with particular expertise assisting family and or closely-held companies in the areas of brand expansion, capital raising, strategic growth, and succession planning.
Jon came to JLL from Cabot Street Capital Partners, where he was CEO and Co-Founder. Before that, he was a managing director and Co-Head of Real Estate Investment Banking at Houlihan Lokey, a global investment banking firm where he expanded the firm's brand. He has also held senior investment brokerage and investment management positions at some of the industry's most recognized firms.
He received a Bachelor of Science-Management from the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts, and a Masters in Business Administration from the F.W. Olin School of Business, Babson College. He’s a Global Governing Trustee of the Urban Land Institute, where he also sits on the Global Exchange Council.
